Injury Rehabilitation with Exercise Physiology
Assessment and treatment of injuries using exercise rehabilitation to reduce your pain and get your life back!
Are you currently living with an injury which is causing you pain and preventing you from enjoying the quality of your life?
Injuries are often painful and significantly reduce your quality of life due to the incessant nature of the pain. They can keep you awake at night or at least restrict your ability to enjoy a full night’s sleep. Injuries can impair your ability to move around freely in your work, your sport or simply during your daily living. For these reasons, an injury to one or more parts of your body can negatively impact your quality of life and your overall health.
Our Injury Rehabilitation service is fully supervised by our dedicated team of Accredited Exercise Physiologists. Initially we assess the nature of your injury and gather a full history of your pain. This typically involves a detailed biomechanical and postural assessment of your current movement and of your current functional capacity. If you’re currently seeing a treating practitioner (i.e. physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor, myotherapist etc) we will work in conjunction with them and gather detailed information from their observations. We will also examine any clinical reports which your doctor may have requested. Our assessment and clinical analysis of your presenting injuries allows our exercise physiologists to draw upon your full history and develop a detailed understanding of the nature of your pain and of your injury.
Once we have undertaken a detailed assessment of your injury we will design and tailor an individual exercise rehabilitation program to the needs of your body. Our aim is to assist you reduce pain and then restore your movement ability for work, daily life or for your chosen sport. Once we have eliminated your pain, our focus is to improve the biomechanical causes of your pain to ensure you don’t repeat an injury again. Typically we do this by using exercise rehabilitation to improve your strength and stability, correct your posture, increase your flexibility, and restore your bodies’ movement patterns to be biomechanically efficient and ideal. Treatment alone is not the answer – preventing a reoccurrence of your injury is crucial to your longer term success.
